Listed below are the 3 stages of the Internship position.
Stage 1: Internship
Purpose:
To build a positive working relationship between the young adult intern and
the Tempo program and staff. This stage of the internship will focus on
developing consistency, follow through, and expectations for the internship as
well as exploring interests with various “on the job” training experiences. The
internship will also help to determine if there is a good match between the
intern and Tempo either to continue the internship or to move on to a paid internship.
Requirements/Length:
• All hours and training for internship have been completed successfully
• Internship has included experience in at least 2 different work areas
• At least 1.5 hours of internship must be participation in Young Adult Advisory Council
• Intern has worked a minimum of 30 hours
• Intern can count a maximum of 10 hours per week toward internship
• Internship length: 1-2 months
• Internships may be suspended for cause at the discretion of the Tempo Program Director
• Internships may be resumed when causes for suspension are resolved
Stage 2: Paid Internship
Purpose:
To provide practical work experience to help young adults develop marketable skills and build their resumes in a supportive, mentoring environment. This stage of the internship will focus on developing specific job skills as defined in each individual job description. The paid internship will also allow young adults to earn stipends for approved hours per week.
Requirements/Length:
• All skills for the position have been mastered successfully
• Young adult has participated in at least one Young Adult Advisory Council meeting
• Interns can work a maximum of 59 hours
• Intern can work a maximum of 10 hours per week
• Paid internship length: 2-4 months
• Paid internships may be suspended for cause at the discretion of the Tempo Program Director
• Paid internships may be resumed when causes for suspension are resolved

Stage 3: Wayside Peer Mentor
Purpose:
To provide longer part time employment for young adults. This stage of the internship will focus on developing young adult longer-term career goals and skill sets, building a resume which shows progressive advancement, and allowing young adult to earn income.
Requirements/Length:
• Mastery of job duties and expectations in a competitive work environment
• Successful completion of paid internship
• Weekly supervision with Tempo Program Director
• Regular participation in Young Adult Advisory Council
• Peer Mentors can work a maximum of 15 hours per week on average
• Stage length: Flexible and will be discussed between Peer Mentor and Tempo Program Director
• Peer Mentors may be terminated for cause with same process as other Wayside employees
Listed below are the positions that are currently available.
Receptionist
Job Description:
Greets visitors, handles incoming calls and performs general office duties. Also may assist other Tempo staff with overflow work, including word processing, data entry and internet research task, filing, facility maintenance and scheduling of appointments within Tempo.
Reports To: Tempo Program Director

Outreach Worker
Job Description:
Travel with Community Links staff through areas where young adults at risk congregate to initiate connections and to assist them in obtaining immediate help with basic needs. Visit neighborhoods, housing developments, local informal gathering places, schools, and other places where young adults may be in need of support and/or assistance. Assist in organizing and implementing a variety of community informational meetings, young adult dialogs, healthy activities and other opportunities to engage young adults in discussion/ action for healthy choices.
Research Assistant
Job Description:
Participate on Evaluation Team for Tempo. Assist in developing evaluation process and interviewing questions. Participate in required training as Research Assistant. Perform interviews, data collection, and data analysis, as needed.
Website Developer
Job Description: 
Job Description: Work in close collaboration with Tempo staff to update and maintain Tempo website. Create and design new web pages, hyperlinks, and overall content of website. Add and remove website content as needed. Get feedback for Tempo young adults on any changes or updates that would add more young adult expression on the website.
Community Health Educator
Job Description:
Work in close collaboration with health specialists and Tempo staff to determine young adult health needs and the availability of services at Tempo and in community. Advise young adults how to get their health care needs met at Tempo or the community. Develop and present health education and promotion programs such as educational training workshops at Tempo. Prepare and distribute health education materials.
